Britain feeds more wild birds than any country in Europe. We do it through a kitchen window, from about six metres away, and they scatter the moment we open the door. Birdly is a bird feeder with a 2K camera built into the perch, so the birds you have fed for years finally arrive close enough to see properly. It records to a microSD card inside the unit, runs on a 5,200 mAh battery topped up by a 2 W solar panel, and alerts your phone when someone lands. What matters most isn't in the spec sheet: the placement card and 3-week setup guide in the box are what decide whether your feeder gets thirty visits a day or none. The camera doesn't bring the birds. The first three weeks do.

Step 1 — Place it (day 0).
Use the placement card in the box. Distance from cover matters more than anything else: too far out and birds feel exposed, too close and they won't risk it. Face the solar panel south where you can.

Step 2 — Fill it and wait (days 1–14).
Nothing will happen at first, and that's normal. Birds are wary of new objects and follow feeding routes they've already learned. First visitors typically arrive between day 2 and day 14.

Step 3 — Adjust, then leave it alone (weeks 3–4).
Traffic settles into a pattern by week three or four. That's when you fine-tune the notifications so you get the arrivals you care about rather than every gust of wind.

Give it four weeks before deciding it isn't working. That's why our returns window is 30 days, not 14.
